My Topic:
Today's English Education in Korea Hinders the Students' Capacity to speak and write in English.
What I hope to learn from this source:
I want to find some information that can demonstrate the correlation between perfectionism and the writing.
Notes:
1. 'Perfectionism' occurs what-Feeling dissatisfied with the quality of the product (both incomplete and completed work) & Feeling judged about the writing -> If they are not satisfied at their works, they feels DISTRESSED. -> Can't start writing. -> Spend tremendous time for writing. ->
Working at the last minute: you may miss sleep or other obligations in order to
complete writing, or you may not have time for proof reading and editing.
-> lose confidence and a slight feeling of interest
2. What perfectionists neglect is
"Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently." (Benjamin
Disraeli)
"Take a chance and you may lose. Take not a chance and you have lost
already." (Soren Kierkegaard)
3. Things to try for overcoming perfectionism
- Focus on quality of works rather than quantity ( Don't be depressed when you couldn't make it great as time you spent)
- Accept that it's ok for me not to write quickly. (Give yourself the time to learn them and the mental breathing space to be able to objectively look at the problem, with the help of others if possible.)
- Accept that it's ok to not get the right result. It's an experiment after all (if you got the result you expected every time, it's wouldn't be an experiment, would it?)
Final thoughts
I am happy to meet my goal. Through this source, i could find correlation between writing and perfectionism. I think as soon as i might approach to begin writing about the topic while
